(M1) Genealogy (Winter term see note below) Thursday 10-12 noon Twin Chapels, Batley Mr A. Stewart-Kaye A course designed, not only to trace your family tree, but also to add flesh to the bare bones of the skeleton. With full instructions and free use of information technology tools such as “Ancestry” and “Find My Past”, this 10-week course explores such issues as registration, census returns, parish and Non-Conformist records, military records, cemetery records and monumental inscriptions, wills, the worlds of work and commerce, emigration and immigration and reference to our “black sheep” ancestors through prison records, court proceedings, etc. "In
addition to the £5 membership fee and £10 class fee, participants will be asked
to pay £10 annual membership of Huddersfield Family History Group. This will
provide access to the websites used (ancestry.com and Findmypast) on the class
day and at other times within the year" Ample car parking is available.
