W1  Walking Group    

Dewsbury and District Third Age  - Walking Group

Walking boots or stout shoes, plus sensible outdoor wear are recommended. All walks are reasonably easy (5-6 miles). Please bring a packed lunch. A friendly, healthy walk in lovely areas is our aim! Members attend events at their own risk.

We normally meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays in the month.

Meet at “Wicks” car park, Dewsbury at 10.00 a.m. , unless advised differently, or go direct to the start of the walk. Transport from “Wicks” car park is available for those who do not drive.

'Cawthorne'  Explore some new territory!  Gorgeous countryside             5 miles

Meet at 'Wicks' at 10.00 or 10.45 around village green near 'Spencer Arms' in Cawthorne

 

Tuesday, 24th January

'Meander around Hopton and back through the woods'    5.5 miles

 Tuesday, 7th February

'Rhubarb to Rhubarb'  Gentle walk with lots of interest            5.5 miles

'Slaithwaite'          Gentle hill walk to Marsden with good views.  Back on canal footpath        5 miles easy

Meet Dewsbury Station at 9.50 for 10.01 train to Huddersfield (Batley 9.57, Mirfield 10.08)

or meet at Leisure Centre in Slaithwaite at 10.50 am

'Cullingworth'                                               5.5 miles
